Brett Anderson is in her final semester at the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology’s Master of Science in Gerontology (MSG) program. She received a BA in Psychology from Stanford University in 2019, completing an honors thesis on temporal discounting across the lifespan. In 2021, she received a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) from UCLA’s Luskin School of Public Affairs. As an intern with the Geriatric Social Work Education Consortium (GSWEC), Brett gained experience in case management and direct work with older adults throughout the continuum of care.
Brett’s path to gerontology has been anything but direct. At thirteen, she co-founded an all-female rock band that took her on a twenty-year journey writing, recording, and performing music around the world. Now pursuing a career as a licensed geriatric social worker, Brett hopes to integrate and build upon her creative and business experience with her gerontological knowledge to better understand and meet the needs of our population as we age. She is excited to compliment her research and clinical skills with experience in grantmaking and management as a Program Intern with Archstone Foundation in Spring 2022.
In her free time, Brett enjoys writing and recording music with friends and taking pictures on walks with her dog, Teddy. After living in Los Angeles for thirteen years, Brett is excited to explore her new home in Orange, California.
