In 2018, Archstone Foundation sought to test the theory that the lives of family caregivers of older adults with disabilities could be substantially improved through adult day services providers. To do this, the Foundation awarded grants to five southern California nonprofits to expand caregiver and ADS provider training and supports. The results were clear: supporting caregivers through ADS works and there is much that providers, policymakers, and philanthropy can do to expand these critical services and spur a national conversation about their importance.
