On March 9, 2020, Archstone Foundation awarded $204,981 over two years to Alzheimer’s Los Angeles for their "Skills Training & Education for Underserved Caregivers: Expanding Capacity to Serve Latino and Lower-Literacy Families” program. Alzheimer’s LA will provide skill-building and psycho-educational programs designed specifically for lower-literacy, lower income, and linguistically and ethnically diverse caregiving families in Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
Currently, with funding from the Administration for Community Living, Alzheimer’s LA is leading an expansion of the Cal MediConnect Dementia project to Medicare Advantage MA providers and is providing on-site caregiver education. In an effort to increase their capacity to provide social services and supports to patients and their caregivers within healthcare organizations, Alzheimer’s LA will work with a healthcare consultant to conduct an examination of the organization’s business acumen, including existing service offerings, internal capacity and structures, HIPAA compliance, and other provisions needed for contract negotiations.
