In December 2019, Archstone Foundation approved a three-month, $15,000 conference grant to St. Barnabas Senior Center of Los Angeles for its "Aging into the Future: Transforming Lives through Technology & Innovation” (Aging into the Future) conference, initially scheduled for April 4, 2020, now to be rescheduled for a later date.
Aging into the Future promotes intergenerational technology conversations so that participants learn from one another in a meaningful way. It fosters tech confidence and adoption among older consumers and encourages tech development geared for ease of use and appropriateness for older people. It gives tech developers, family members, and caregivers an opportunity to better understand limitations that may deter use of technology. Hands-on exhibits, co-creation sessions, and learning stations offer attendees a chance to see ways in which technology can improve their health and wellness, social connections, and access to healthcare and other resources.
