Steve Wallace, PhD, was a tireless advocate for aging and public health. He championed the vital intersection between the two fields, and the importance of the American Public Health Association (APHA) including this intersection in their work. He was also committed to fostering an academic research community that mirrors the diversity of California and the U.S. He served as the director of the Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR) and as the principal investigator on the Research on ImmiGrant HealTh and State policy (RIGHTS) Study. Steve was a long-time friend of Archstone Foundation; his leadership, kindness, and academic scholarship is missed by many.
